Birthworker Equity Fund

Equity starts at birth… with Birthworkers!

Cultural Congruency

We know that birthing people benefit from care and support that is culturally-matched, from someone who understands their lived experience. This is especially important within the highly inequitable US perinatal care system.

Birthwork Barriers

Significant barriers have prevented representation from birthworkers who are Black, Indigenous, people of color, LGBTQIA, or Disabled, including expensive training programs, time intensive certification requirements, and organizational cultures rooted in white supremacy.

Scholarship Solutions

Nurturely is partnering with birthworker training organization, Birthing from Within, to increase access to doula and childbirth educator training and certification. Anyone who is Black, Indigenous, or another Person of Color, LGBTQIA, Disabled, or from another group experiencing barriers, regardless of finances, can apply for this scholarship.

We recognize this is just a small step toward representative and anti-racist birth and perinatal workforce development opportunities

Your donation to this fund will support equitable access to birthworker training
